  • Heat oven to 425°F.
  • Rinse potatoes; pat dry with paper towels.
  • Brush 1 Tbsp. butter onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate. Toss potatoes with remaining butter and 1/4 cup cheese; layer on bottom and up side of pie plate. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Bake 1 hour or until potatoes are tender. Loosen potatoes from side and bottom of pie plate; invert immediately onto serving plate.


Prepare using any all-purpose potato.

Special Extra

Garnish with chopped fresh chives before serving.

    This was great! Had no problem getting it out of the pan! Made for a beautiful presentation!! Next time will experiment with additions! I layered the potatoes one layer and then added the cheese with more potatoes. I also put it in a cast iron skillet. Will be ****** often!!

    This potato recipe was the best! I used only 4 medium potatoes because it was just for me and my husband. I used all the same amounts of butter and parmesan cheese and did add a tbl. of canola oil to the melted butter to coat the potato slices. Had no problem with sticking to the pie plate. Will try to add some chopped onion to the mix next time I make this. Excellent recipe!

    I added a layer of Zucchini in the middle and served it cut like pie wedges. It was a real hit and so simple to do. I was also thinking that s little onion would be anther way to go.
