Food Facts

Panko crumbs are typically used as a coating for fried foods in Japanese cooking. Since they're coarser than bread crumbs, they produce a deliciously crunchy crust.

How to Blanch the Fresh Green Beans

Add beans to large pan of boiling water; cook 2 to 3 min. or until crisp-tender. Drain beans, then immediately plunge into bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. When beans are completely cooled, drain and pat dry.

Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this! Loved this! Used 3 bags of the steam in bag green beans and cooked them until they still had a slight crunch. Don't skimp on the bread crumbs and almonds, or the garlic! This was a very nice twist to the typical green bean ********* with mushroom soup and fried onions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good ..... Very good ..... I used canned beans and it was still good. A little different take on the 'standard' green bean casserole. The almonds really make it great
