I was brought up eating summer salad green beans, but this is the first time I've actually seen a recipe for them. Our family recipe was made with the green beans, olive oil, wine vinegar, thinly sliced garlic, sometimes a little red onion and salt and pepper to taste. For lunch, I used to like to make a "green bean sandwich" with this salad on crusty Italian bread. It was so delicious. I found the addition of tomatoes and ready made dressing interesting. I blanched the tomatoes, skinned them and seeded them before slicing. Next time, I might add red or yellow roasted peppers, julienned and sliced black olives. It's a great, versatile recipe for anytime, but particularly during the summer.

He just told me that I could make these green beens any time I wanted. He never comments about my cooking. This is a miracle! These beans are obviously very good reheated. AND HEALTHY! Thought I was taking my life in my own hands by not making the traditional green bean casserole. Thank you !

I didn't have fresh beans so I used frozen and sauted some fresh garlic in olive oil. Poured the garlic and olive oil with tomatoes over the cooked beans with some salt and pepper. It was so delicious. Thanks Kraft.

I used frozen french cut green beans and dried basil - my local store was out of fresh. The dish looked great but the italian was a bit too sweet for my taste. Next time I'll use less dressing and maybe add a couple pepperoni slices to spice things up.

I didn't have any Italian dressing or fresh tomatoes, so added canned diced tomatoes, some garlic, italian seasoning and some bruschetta that I had in the fridge. Very yummy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good recipe. Very good recipe. Just in general, I love mixed veggies with the Italian dressing anyway. In this case I used the Zesty Italian...very good! I like this recipe because it's very simple, quick and delicious. I will definitely make this recipe again.
