Rated 5 out of 5 by from This sounds delicious but I am confused. This sounds delicious but I am confused. Everyone is calling this a marinade but according to the instructions no marinading is being done. "Marination is the process of soaking foods in a seasoned liquid before cooking." No where in this recipe does it call for marinading the salmon so I'm curious as to how the fish can absorb all this flavor from the syrup mixture simply from brushing it on during grilling. And since some folks said they grilled their salmon wrapped in foil I would think it would have to have been marinaded ahead of time...or am I missing something? I will simply add that 1 Tbsp of oil to the syrup mixture, add the salmon and marinade the whole thing for a few hours. Did anyone else do it this way?

My husband is not a seafood lover and he thought it smelled great while he grilled it for me while he was grilling his burgers. He ended up trying it, ate the extra one that I had that I was going to use as a leftover and forsaked one of his burgers! He said it was something I could make again. I found it very easy to make, I had all the ingredients on hand. I have tried it with a smoked salmon filet and it was really tasty as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow this dish was delicious! Wow this dish was delicious!! Probably one of the best meals I have made, and my fiance even said it tasted like a meal from a restaurant!! I used fresh ginger, and it made the marinade more fresh and yummy. I also grilled the fish in foil so it wouldn't fall apart. The salmon was so tender and the flavors were wonderful together. I served with oven-roasted asparagus, baked sweet potato, and sourdough bread. Best meal ever!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was the first time I ever made salmon and it was delicious! This was the first time I ever made salmon and it was delicious!! I doubled the sauce and let sit for 1.5 - 2 hours. I read somewhere that salmon shouldn't be marinated more than 15 minutes, but it was GOOD marinated for that long! I will definitely cook in foil next time since it started to fall apart a little at the end of grilling. Definitely will make again SOON!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious! Delicious! I actually marinated my salmon in the maple syrup mixture for about 30min. I also drizzled the excess on top before cooking. I broiled my salmon instead of grilling it...delicious! I served it w/ oven roasted asparagus, brown rice, and baked sweet potatoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Our family is trying to eat healthier. Our family is trying to eat healthier. I had all the ingredients on hand, had good reviews decided to give it a try. Tasted much better than expected. The marinade combo seemed strange but gave the fish excellent flavor. Can't wait to try it on grilled shrimp kabobs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I used this as a marinade and it was amazing. I used this as a marinade and it was amazing. I let the salmon marinade for 3 hours before I put it on the grill. It had the sweet, which I like, and the spicy kick, which my husband likes. We enjoyed this with grilled greens and french onion soup.
