Putting them on the grill did make the skins crispy, but for my taste, it's not worth the extra step. Toppings were great, but I think I would have liked it just as well with the potatoes cooked only in the microwave.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great way to prepare Sweet Potatoes too! Great way to prepare Sweet Potatoes too! I pre-cook them in the microwave, then wrap in foil and put on the grill. (length of time will depend on size of potato - you can cut them into chucks too!) Wonderful way to prepare them before hand to go out for a family gathering or picnic. Season with a little cinnamon/sugar with butter if desired (though some pototoes don't need anything added)!

The smokey flavor permeated the potatoes quite nicely and was such a nice change of pace. Very easy too! We used med. sized new potatoes, so it went very quickly, and the salt seemed to melt away as the oil heated up. What an interesting new way (for us) to enjoy a potato in the summer time.

The sodium content is way too high for today's dietary needs of 2000 daily mg of sodium. Alternatives include using herbs and spices with lower salt cheeses and dollup of sour cream. One potato at 900 mg is almost 1/2 of the daily recommended intake.

He loves grilling potatoes but from now on this is the only way he said he would make them again. I didn't have green onions but I will the next time we make these.

The salt adds so much flavor and the time saving use of the microwave makes these an easy addition to any meal (or sometimes I just have one for lunch)

Making tonight again, a staple for us in the warmer months...I prefer it a bit healthier, skipping the bacon bits and going easier on the sour cream and cheese. Tastes very good also with just some Kraft grated parmesan on top.
