  • Immerse plank in water, topping with a weight to keep it submerged. Soak 4 hours.
  • Heat grill to medium heat. Mix dressing, parsley and tomatoes; set aside. Brush plank with oil; top with fish. Place plank on grill grate.
  • Grill 20 min. or until fish flakes easily with fork, brushing with dressing mixture after 10 min.

Cooking Know-How

Untreated cedar planks, which are sold for this purpose, can be found at most specialty food stores or some grocery stores. Keep a spray bottle of water close at hand if needed for flare-ups.

Note

The cedar plank can be soaked overnight before using as directed. Or if you don't have a plank, you can grill the salmon on a sheet of heavy-duty foil instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVED THIS! LOVED THIS!!!! I live in a very small town. So, we used foil, and our salmon was 4 frozen pieces total weight 1 pound. My husband is not fond of fish so it took me 4 years to get him to make it. He loved it. He and I both really like sun dried tomatoes. We pours the sauce over the salmon as soon as we put the salmon on the grill. We folded the edges of the foil up to retain the sauce. If you like sun dried tomatoes you will love this recipe.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This was my first excursion into plank cooking, and also for grilling salmon. This was my first excursion into plank cooking, and also for grilling salmon. I did like the flavor that the plank put into the meat, but I found that grilled salmon, isnt one of my favorite foods. LOL.. I would fix this again for company, but I dont think I will put this on the menu very often for myself. It was tasty though, and pretty darned easy. even the hard to find sun-dried tomato topping, was very good..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We were afraid the temperature was too high on the grill, so we turned one burner off. We were afraid the temperature was too high on the grill, so we turned one burner off. We should have left it on; it was a little underdone in the middle. Otherwise, it was delicious! I used dried parsley, but followed the recipe otherwise. The directions on our cedar plank stated to soak it in water for 90 minutes. It barely scorched on the edges and smelled heavenly! Great summer dish. :)

I am not a very big fish person but I did this recipe for my boyfriend and some friends. They loved!!!!. As for me I thought it was okay but then again I am not a fish person. As to if I would do this recipe again, yes I would for family and friends. If you are looking on where to buy the cedar plank I bought at Dominics.

I have made this recipe more times than I can remember; even in the cold winter months. I have also passed the recipe on to many relatives and friends. Everyone raves at the great flavor and easy prep. We love to serve this with fettuccini pasta and aparagus spears as sides. The fettuccini can be tossed with a white wine and sun dried tomatoes for great flavor!

I made this salmon with the lemon/lime rice, let me tell you, if they could've licked the plates without looking silly they would have! We all highly recomend this recipe for anyone who enjoys salmon. My partner has already bought me new cedar planks for the next time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've made a similar recipe that's spectacular! I've made a similar recipe that's spectacular! I place half a salmon skin side down on the soaked board and spread a layer of orange marmalade over the entire top. Then sprinkle with sliced almonds and grill about 20 minutes or until salmon flakes easily. One of my guests who ate it added it to the menu at his restaurant. Leslie, Salt Lake City

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is one of the easiest, most delicious recipes. This is one of the easiest, most delicious recipes. I have made this numerous times and it is a huge hit every time. I was asked to make this last year for thanksgiving to be set out earlier in the day as an appetizer for our large family. Needless to say, there was nothing left. Hint: use fresh parsley. This gives the salmon a "rich" flavor.
