Rated 5 out of 5 by from My husband and I loved this! My husband and I loved this! I tried putting these under the broiler instead of on the grill, but the chees started browning too quickly & the tomatoes weren't getting soft yet. So, I just baked them for about 15-20 minutes in a 325 degree oven. Next time I'll use Fresh Grated Parmasean Cheese instead of the powder form and I'll add the chopped basil After the tomatoes have cooked so the basil doens't lose all its flavor. DELICIOUS, and so pretty on the plate!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I liked the italian dressing flavor. I liked the italian dressing flavor. it cooked a lot faster than the time stated even on lower temperature for me. you need to check it every so often because for me the cheese was bubbling so much that it started to fall off the tomatoes some. I don't like tomatoes but everyone in my family did but everyone who bit into them had tomato juice squirting everywhere, even onto the counters so I'm not sure if I should make the slices smaller next time

I grilled the tomatoes on reynolds wrap so it was easy to remove from the grill, I mixed seasoned bread crumbs, brown sugar, and fresh basil and placed about a tablespoon on each tomatoe, dab of butter, and squirt of sun dried tomatoe Kraft dressing - topping with graded cheese of choice. They were great and the flavor outstanding. No Dishes, quick clean up.

We just picked tomatoes from our garden, but those tomatoes were big, and it needed about 30 mins.to cook. Otherwise the taste will be just like fresh tomatoes & dressings & cheese! As the recipe says, "til it looks brown/cooked outside of the tomatoes".

I changed the recipe slightly, layered the fresh tomato slices (about 3-4 slices/tomato) with parmesan cheese, Itailan Seasoning, Crushed Saltine Crackers, Drizzle with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Bake 425 degree oven for 25-30 minutes, let set 5 minutes before serving. The top actually gets crunchie, yum :)

I modified this Recipe...6 Grams of Fat is FAR too much for a veggie side dish, so I used Kraft FAT FREE Italian Salad Dressing, and a few shakes of my Dairy-Free, Soy , .5 Grams Fat Grated Cheese...Each serving works out to LESS than one Gram of Fat...and NO ONE will be able to discern the difference.

I made this because I was looking for a different and colorful side to serve with my meal. My husband and I absolutely loved them. On a few tomatoes, I added some shredded mozzarella cheese to see if that tasted good. It does. We love tomatoes, and we love this recipe! So quick and easy too.
