  • Cook sausage as directed on package; drain. Cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices.
  • Whisk eggs, milk, mustard and black pepper in large bowl until blended. Add potatoes, cheese, red peppers, onions and sausage; mix well.
  • Pour into 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Refrigerate overnight.
  • Remove casserole from refrigerator 30 min. before baking. Heat oven to 350ºF. Bake casserole 1 hour 5 min. to 1 hour 10 min. or until center is set and top is golden brown. Remove from oven. Let stand 10 min. before serving.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good and very simple Had this for breakfast this morning. I made half of a recipe because there’s just two of us. I have used a similar recipe for a strata for years, but it used bread. Now I have a family member with celiac disease and need a gluten free alternative. The casserole was pretty and the flavor was pretty good. It seemed a bit bland, so I will try to doctor it and try it again.

Followed recipe exactly, looked beautiful, after sitting for 10 minutes, and cutting into it, the top was cooked perfectly and bottom was extremely watery! Is 3 cups of milk correct? Also, I thawed the hash browns, (recipe did not indicate)?? Would love to make again, please help. Thanks
