  • Heat oil in large saucepan on medium-high heat. Add chicken and onion; cook and stir 8 min. or until chicken is cooked through.
  • Stir in flour. Add beans, broth and dressing mix; mix well. Bring to boil.
  • Reduce heat to low; cover. Simmer 20 min., stirring occasionally.

Purchasing & Storing Onions

Look for firm onions with smooth skins. Avoid onions that are spongy, or those that have sprouting bulbs or dark spots. Store onions in a cool dry well-ventilated place for 3 to 4 weeks. If you use only part of an onion, store remaining portion in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator and use within 4 days.

    Picture is deceiving. It looks like there is red peppers or carrots in the soup. Not true. Soup is hopelessly beige. Tastes good, though, so I would put a bag of spinach or some other greens in the soup for the last five minutes. Jazzes it up and amps up the nutrition. Carrots or frozen peas or beans would work, too. Or that red pepper! Taste is there. Just needs to be more visually appealing.

    I was looking for a good chicken noodle soup recipe for a sick friend, something I dont make because I hate soups. I took this and used egg noodles in place of the beans. I loved this soup. So did my pal. I will be eating soup now. Thanks for a great recipe with lots of flavor.
