What You Need

beef brisket (5 lb.)

jar (12 oz.) apricot preserves

bottle (10 oz.) A.1. Original Steak Sauce

cup ketchup

1/2

cup packed brown sugar

large onions, sliced, separated into rings

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

PLACE meat in roasting pan.

MIX next 4 ingredients in large bowl until blended. Add onions; toss to coat. Pour evenly over meat. Cover with foil; pierce foil in several places with sharp knife or fork to vent.

BAKE 3-1/2 to 4 hours or until done (160°F). Let stand, covered, 10 min. before slicing. Serve with meat drippings.

Brisket can be prepared up to 2 days in advance. Bake and slice meat as directed. Return meat to roasting pan; cover with meat drippings. Cover and refrigerate. When ready to serve, reheat, covered, in 350°F oven 1 hour or until heated through.

Absolutely delicious. I forgot to add the brown sugar and it was still amazing. My kids and parents loved it. I don't think the I needed the brown sugar. It taste great without it. I added some garlic powder, ground pepper and some montreal steak seasoning. Yummy.

Extremely tasty! I have never cooked brisket before, and I was expecting it to come out a little tough, but it was very tender and juicy. The sauce is awesome!! Instead of using the 10 OZ bottle of A-1 steak sauce, I used 5 ounces of the A-1, and and put in 5 extra ounces of barb. sauce. What an amazing flavor!

I made an arm/chuck roast in the crock pot overnigth and shredded it in the morning. Great tasting barbeque sauce.

Don't use briskette! The sauce is wonderful, works well with spare ribs, too. I threw away the briskette and started over with a beef roast in the slow cooker.

Great for an unseasoned cook! I substituted peach for apricot preserves as that's what I had on hand. I'll definitely make it again..

I love this recipe! It also makes great leftovers. I added a few yukon gold potatoes... yum. It has a great flavor and is easy to make.
