Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe was easy and the cake turned out amazing! This recipe was easy and the cake turned out amazing! I was afraid while it was chilling that the Jell-O would dye the entire cake green and red, but it turned out just like the picture. The lime was a little tangy but still delicious. I sprinkled the bottom of the cake platter with powdered sugar before putting the cake down. This made it look pretty and the bottom of the cake soaked up the powdered sugar! YUM!!! I think this would be good with peach Jell-O & fresh sliced peaches or pineapple Jell-O with pineapple slices. I will definitely be making this one again!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this cake for Christmas and it was SIMPLY FABULOUS! I made this cake for Christmas and it was SIMPLY FABULOUS!! My relatives could not believe their eyes when they saw this cake! It was beautiful as well as delicious. It was very easy & simple to make. Instead of using raspberries for the decoration on top of the cake, I used red and green marachino cherries along with a few leaves from spring mix salad. Next time I make this cake, I'm going to use cupcakes instead. I'm going to make a cupcake for each one of my relatives by using a different color Jello.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks to all who wrote the reviews, I avoid making the same mistakes you all had. Thanks to all who wrote the reviews, I avoid making the same mistakes you all had. I would like to share with you what I did. I attached the picture of my cake too. (1) I made the cakes first, let them cool down (overnight). (2) I used Cake Leveler to cut off the top of one cake, this is going to be used as the bottom cake. So when I put the top layer, the cake will not slip off. (3) I used CHOPSTICK to pork hole. (4) I used less than a cup of Jello (only around 3/4 cup), the cake was not soggy. (5) I put the cakes back in the fridge overnight. (6) I added 3-4 oz of cream cheese into the cool whip before using as frosting. (7) I used “candied cherries” instead of “fresh raspberries”. It is cheaper and great for anytime of the year. If you are in the hurry, don’t make this cake.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this on Easter for my family. I made this on Easter for my family. I used the grape and peach jello instead. The purple and yellowish-orange worked great for this holiday. The taste was great and was a big hit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In addition to the Black Forest Delight, I also baked this cake, The Holiday Poke Cake. In addition to the Black Forest Delight, I also baked this cake, The Holiday Poke Cake. This cake amazed my family members. They thought it had come from the bakery, and they tried to figure out how did I get those beautiful Christmas colors in the cake. I used strawberry for the red and of course lime for the green color. The two flavors together makes "magic"!! This was my first Holiday Poke Cake ever, but it will not be my last!!! Wonderful Cake and so pretty!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I make this for every holiday, plus some! I make this for every holiday, plus some!! This is the only kind of cake my very picky 3 year old will eat!! He's not much of a sweets eater! We love it with cherry jell-o, but I've also made it with grape for my kids, not bad, but not for me!! I usually just make it in a 9x13 pan instead of the layers - unless it's for a special occasion like Christmas or a baby/bridal shower, then I'll do the layers & fancy it up a bit! :) Great recipe!! Love it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have also made this cake in a 13 x 9 cake pan. I have also made this cake in a 13 x 9 cake pan. Used cherry jello and then put a can of cherry pie filling on top with the whipped topping on top of this. My husband loves this. It's great in the summer time. I have also done this with a lemon cake and lime jello, and then mixed a can of lemon pie filling in with the whipped topping and frosted the cake with it. It's really a cool, refreshing change for a dessert.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just AWFUL results. Just AWFUL results. Soggy mess. I even let the cakes with the jello sit in the fridge overnight before trying to frost with the cool whip. I frosted it, put it back in the fridge and when I came back to get it 20 minutes later the top layer had slipped off the bottom layer and the cool whip was running all over the fridge. Never again. Now I have to go buy a cake for my event.
