  • Mix mustard, lime juice, garlic, soy sauce and lime zest until well blended. Reserve 1/2 cup of the mustard mixture for serving with cooked chicken.
  • Grill or broil chicken 15 minutes or until cooked through, turning and brushing occasionally with remaining mustard mixture.
  • Serve with reserved 1/2 cup mustard mixture.

Marinated Honey-Lime Chicken

Prepare mustard mixture as directed, increasing soy sauce to 2 Tbsp. Pour 1/4 cup of the mustard mixture over chicken; cover. Refrigerate 1 to 4 hours to marinate. Remove chicken from marinade; discard marinade. Cook chicken as directed. Heat reserved mustard mixture; serve with cooked chicken.

Keeping it Safe

Use a visual test to ensure boneless chicken breasts are thoroughly cooked. Cut small slit in the thickest part of each chicken piece. If meat is totally white with no pink color, it is safe to eat.

The first time I made this, I wanted to make only half as much as the recipe directed, but I accidentally added the same amount of garlic, and paired with the mustard, it was horrible. But I made this a second time and it was awesome! Instead of using the honey mustard it called for, I used equal parts honey and dijon mustard, so it might have come out sweeter than intended; however, my daughter ate slices of the breast in a sandwich, and she loved it, and that was probably thanks to the added sweetness. I suggest trying this version if you have picky eaters who don't like the original recipe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really liked this recipe! I really liked this recipe! It was easy. I did do a few things different: I did 1/4 c. dijon mustard and 1/4 c. honey because I didn't have the already made. I would also recommend the lime zest. It really added a freshness to the chicken. I think you could also do regular mustard and honey the same way and it will taste okay. I liked that you didn't have to marinate it for it to still be good. I put mine right on the grill after brushing on the sauce and it was great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This recipe was a great change from everyday bbq chicken. This recipe was a great change from everyday bbq chicken. I used a mixture of honey and mustard to make the honey mustard and it turned out great. I also heated the sauce for a few seconds in the microwave before serving. I served it with the lemon and lime rice and it went so well together. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is my boyfriend said he wasn't sure about it, but he doesn't care for mustard very much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great! Great! I used a dijon mustard sauce I had and added honey to it. I'm not a huge fan of mustard, but this was really good. I added a few drops of lime juice to the mix since I didn't have limes. Next time I will bake it for about 40 minutes first and then broil it for a few minutes at the end. This will be a regular meal at my house!

I doctored it up some, but I'm not too much of a mustard fan, and I tasted the sauce before I put it on the chicken and it seemed like the mustard was too over powering and like it work out so well, nevertheless, I tried it on one piece of chicken, grilled it on the house grill that goes over both burners on your stove, gives you grill marks and everything. I was afraid to taste it, so I gave it to my sister, she liked it, so I tasted it and it wasn't half bad. Fixed my mother some for lunch, gave some to my other sister and My Family. They liked it very much. I guess I will be making it again then... The lime taste came out alot after being cooked. I added Italian seasoning and honey and a few other things to taste, kept adding the sauce while cooking it, even after letting it marinate for a little bit. And drizzled it around the plate to look "cute". I think a little bit of green onions on top will help make it look fancy. Just cooked some rice with it, and there ya go. A Kraft magaz

While the instructions say the grated lime peel is optional, you really do need it have the lime flavor come through. The lime juice isn't enough by itself. I marinated the chicken for about an hour and then just baked it in a casserole dish sprayed with Pam. Delicious and easy.

This was quick & easy for a family that eat's healthy, & with the daddy being the picky eater! I know it says lime zest optional but I would make sure that I don't miss that step, it makes the chicken have that extra flavor. & double the marinade, you'll regret it if u don't!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious. Delicious. I made this, but I doubled the marinade so that I could leave the chicken in half of it for 24 hours. Then I heated the other half of the marinade and drizzled it over the chicken after it was grilled. A great recipe....But I love Dijon mustard and garlic.
