Italian Meatloaf

The secret to the old-world flavor of this meatloaf is the Italian dressing mix. Get this on your menu to create the tradition of home-cooked meals.

What You Need

cup  dry bread crumbs
cup  milk
lb.  ground beef
can  (8 oz.) tomato sauce or ketchup, divided
cup  finely chopped celery
env.  GOOD SEASONS Italian Dressing Mix
 egg, lightly beaten
Tbsp.  chopped fresh parsley
 Country white bread

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Mix bread crumbs and milk in large bowl. Add meat, half of the tomato sauce and the remaining ingredients; mix until well blended.

SHAPE meat mixture into oval loaf in shallow baking pan.

BAKE 1 hour. Spoon remaining tomato sauce over meatloaf. Bake an additional 20 minutes or until meatloaf is cooked through.

Thawing Ground Beef Safely
To thaw ground beef safely, keep the meat wrapped and thaw it in the refrigerator -- not on the countertop. Store on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator to prevent any drippings from cross-contaminating other foods. Use thawed meat within 2 days.
