The American cheese on this does not look appetizing so I used shredded mozzarella instead and green onions instead of peppers, it was a hit, even my kids liked it. Served it with buttered pasta and roasted zucchini.
Fantastic recipe! Made a few adjustments though: I used the Garden Style cream cheese instead of regular, added in some red onion with the green pepper and used slices of pepperjack. I make my own spagheti sauce with fresh tomatoes too so that was even extra tasty! Served over spaghetti noodles! Yum!
I think since this is suppose to be an Italian -style chicken dish, it should have mazzarella cheese or provolone cheese singles on top!...just my suggestion! :)
