Save 50 calories per serving by preparing with JELL-O Cherry Flavor Sugar Free Gelatin and COOL WHIP LITE Whipped Topping.
Stir 1 Tbsp. orange zest into gelatin mixture along with the oranges.
Prepare as directed, using 1 pkg. (6 oz.) or 2 pkg. (3 oz. each) JELL-O Cranberry Gelatin and/or substituting orange juice for the pomegranate juice.

I first made this for our extended family's Thanksgiving dinner when it first came out in the Holiday issue of Food & Family magazine three years ago. It became an instant hit and the start of a new tradition. It's such a nice melding of flavors for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I substitute pomegranate juice for the cold water as well to give a more pronounced pomegranate flavor (otherwise the cherry dominates), use real whipped cream, and garnish with additional mandarin orange segments and fresh pomegranate seeds. Looks beautiful. Tastes just right!!! Love the cinnamon/cloves in the whipped cream.
