What You Need

pkg. (19.8 oz.) brownie mix

pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding

1-1/2

cups cold milk

Few

drops red food coloring

Few

drops yellow food coloring

Make It

PREPARE brownie batter and bake as directed on package for 8- or 9-inch square pan. Immediately poke deep holes in brownie at 1-inch intervals, using round handle of wooden spoon.

BEAT pudding mix and milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min. Add food colorings to tint pudding desired shade of orange. Immediately pour about half the pudding evenly over warm brownie; tap pan lightly on work surface to evenly fill holes in brownie with pudding. Let stand 5 min. Spread remaining pudding over top of brownie.

REFRIGERATE at least 1 hour before serving. Cut into 2-inch squares, then cut each square diagonally in half to form triangles.

Use 2 drops yellow food coloring to each drop of red food coloring for a good Halloween-orange tint.

Because they had to be int he fridge, it made it difficult to cut them in neat pieces (even after letting them sit for a bit). Also, cold brownies are not a fan among the 15 or so kids I served them to! As they got warmer the got VERy messy and even ruined a few costumes. :(

I did vary the recipe a bit, but the result was pretty much the same. I wanted a light pink pudding color (celebrating a new grandma and her newborn granddaughter) so I used sugar free white chocolate pudding instead of vanilla. I think this is an awesome recipe that can be adjusted for any holiday or celebration you want. I think the combination of the brownie and pudding was absolutely wonderful- both in taste and texture. Best part is that the pudding replaces the frosting (a bit healthier). I will definitely make these again.

My big problem with these, is you have to be SUPER fast. By the time I got the pudding ready to put in the holes, it was already too stiff.

I made this for work and they went soo fast. Everyone loved them. The texture is kinda different, but still very good together. A nice take on a classic. And I love that the pudding can be dyed for any holiday.

Everybody loved them! I made this with all healthier choice options (sugar free pudding, reduced fat butter, and no pudge brownies) except for adding chocolate chunks to the mix. They were a hit!

This is a great and REALLY easy to make. I am 13 years old and could make it myself. I know that my little brother (11 years old) could make it)
