Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Mix all ingredients except chicken in large shallow dish until well blended.
  • Add chicken; turn over to evenly coat both sides. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour to marinate. Drain; discard marinade.
  • Preheat greased grill to medium heat. Grill chicken 40 to 45 minutes or until cooked through, turning frequently.

Special Equipment Needed

Serving Suggestion

Serve with ½ cup of your favorite cooked pasta and ½ cup of sautéed vegetables to round out the meal.

Prepare as directed, using 1-1/2 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts and decrease the grilling time to 20 to 25 minutes.

Keeping it Safe

Always cook chicken until no longer pink in the center. The internal temperature should reach between 175°F and 180°F. To visually check for doneness, pierce chicken with a fork. The juices should run clear when the fork is inserted with ease.

Use Your Broiler

Marinate chicken as directed. Preheat broiler. Place chicken on greased rack of broiler pan. Broil, 5 to 7 inches from heat, 40 to 45 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy Cow, this is GOOD! Holy Cow, this is GOOD! I marinaded boneless/skinless chicken breasts in this overnight. I was going to grill them this morning to carry to a church carry-in lunch. It was raining this morning - so I didn't start the grill. Instead, I cut the chicken into smaller pieces (3 pieces per breast) and cooked in an iron skillet on the stove top. Served over brown rice mixed with black beans and corn. There wasn't even a single spoonful left. I only got a small piece myself. It was GREAT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I guess we all have different tastes. I guess we all have different tastes. I make this frequently for guests and everyone I have ever served it to has loved it and wanted the recipe. I make it exactly as the recipe states but no, it doesn't make a lot of marinade and the marinade will probably be much thicker than you are use to. I strongly disagree with leaving out some of the ingredients, if you don't care for it try another recipe. I admit it's a strange combination but the flavors are wonderful, give it a try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this two days ago for my family. I made this two days ago for my family. I used a small cornish hen and cooked it on the rotisserie machine. It tasted terrific. I was a little skeptical about the combination of flavors in the marinade, but I absolutely loved the end result and so did my family. In fact, they raved about it so much that they requested I make it again for our July 4th celebration. :)

I prepared this chicken receipe last night for my family, who normally like their grilled chicken plain. Let me tell you, I will be making this over and over again. They LOVED it! I used the full leg and thigh pieces and it was delicious. I already have plans to make this for my in-laws and friends. YUMMY!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! Wonderful! We usually make this with skinless chicken breasts (although the marinade is great for drumsticks as well). It's the perfect combination of spices. This is my husband's favorite recipe; we make this all the time! It's great on the grill or broiled and makes great leftovers. Love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a good alternative to bbq chicken. This is a good alternative to bbq chicken. It doesn't compare to the actual jerk chicken that you would get somewhere like jamaica but on its own it was still good. I served this over rice and next time I Might want to reserve a little of the sauce to pour over it,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe is great. This recipe is great. I have made it twice. My husband loves it. I made it for Labor Day and even after everyone was stuffed they still wanted more. It is very easy to make and really allows you pre-plan. Simple grilling at its best!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We loved this recipe. We loved this recipe. It had just the right amount of spice and was easy to prepare. I substituted chicken cutlets for the broiler chicken, and broiled it in the oven. I will definitely make this again. It was delicious.
