Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Combine graham crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar and butter; press onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan.
  • Beat cream cheese, remaining sugar and 1/4 cup milk in medium bowl with whisk until blended; spread over crust.
  • Beat pudding mixes and remaining milk with whisk 3 min. Pour over cream cheese layer in pan. Let stand 5 min. or until thickened; cover with COOL WHIP.
  • Refrigerate 4 hours.

Variation

This dessert tastes equally delicious when prepared with PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese, your favorite flavor JELL-O Sugar Free Fat Free Instant Pudding and COOL WHIP LITE Whipped Topping.

Make it Easy

To make the dessert easier to cut into squares, place chilled dessert in freezer for 1 hour before cutting into squares.

Special Extra

For easy cleanup, line baking pan with foil using this easy method.  Turn pan upside down and fit a piece of foil over top of pan, smoothing corners as needed.  Remove foil.  When you turn the pan over, the foil fits perfectly inside the pan.

Variation

For variety, substitute 1 cup each flour and finely chopped toasted PLANTERS Pecans for the graham crumbs. Mix with sugar and butter as directed. Bake in 350°F oven 10 min. Cool, then use as directed.

Since I couldn't find strawberry cool whip, I decided to switch this up a bit for an Easter get together. First layer of graham cracker crumbs was the same. Next layer I substituted coconut milk for the milk and added coconut sweetened flakes. Then Vanilla pudding and finally CHOCOLATE Cool Whip finished with semi sweet chocolate shavings. An Easter EGG. It was delicious!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is one of my favorite desserts to make. This is one of my favorite desserts to make. I make the crust listed in the variations (with flour & pecans) My favorite is with pistacio pudding!! but it's also good with chocolate. It makes a nice size recipe, but I don't get 24 servings from a 9X13 pan! I've never had anything go wrong & it looks nice on the plate when served (& tastes great, too!)

I only had one suggestion, increase the lemon flavor a little more. I too believe, it would have been much better if there had been a "stronger" lemon flavor. Next time I make it, I will add a teaspoon or two of REAL LEMON or lemon extract.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I made this for Easter. I made this for Easter. Everyone really enjoyed it, so I would attempt to made it again. I had touble spreading the cream cheese layer, because it kept tearing up the crust. Do you have any tips on a better way to spread the cream cheese on to the crust without this happening? Otherwise this would have been an easy dessert to make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great recipe! great recipe! I made it last night for a picnic and was so excited when I tried it. I followed everyone's advice of putting each layer in the refrigerator <although I used the freezer> in order to prevent the layers from combining. This is a geat summery desert, but you have to like super sweet things in order to enjoy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone loves this dessert. Everyone loves this dessert. I made it for Easter and there was none left and everyone wanted more. The kids and adults equally like it. I get requests to make this on a monthly basis!!!! The only suggestion I have is, refrigerate the graham cracker crust first before spreading the cream cheese. It makes it much easier!!

This was very good, except I had a problem with the crust coming apart when I tried to spread the cream cheese mixture. Someone commented that you can put the crust in the fridge for a couple hours first, but I baked the crust for 10 minutes at 350 degrees (and then let it cool for about 10 minutes) and that worked great!

A couple years ago I went to the store to buy the ingredients to make it to find out you can't find the strawberry flavored cool whip anymore. I am very upset to find a recipe I like so much and then quit making the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I haven't tried this yet but I will. I haven't tried this yet but I will. People have said that they can't always find Strawberry CoolWhip....well couldn't you whip in a box of strawberry Jello into the regular CoolWhip for flavoring? I'm not sure if it would change the texture or not. I'll give it a try and get back to you.

Whenever I make it, I have to make an extra dish just for my husband, per his request. I made this for my mother's birthday dinner at a local restaurant last year and even our waitress was asking for the recipe!

Made two pans of these for a memorial and wasn't long before the pans were empty and people were chasing me down for the recipe. Very easy to make and tastes great! I found the softer the cream cheese, the easier it was to spread on top of graham cracker crust. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It was great with one exception. It was great with one exception. It is almost impossible to get the strawberry Cool Whip. I had to improvise with juice drained off of frozen strawberries mixed into regular Cool Whip. I have found the same is true when trying to find chocolate Cool Whip for recipes that I have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AH! AH!!! I love this recipe. It has now become a tradition to make every Easter. My whole family looks forward to eating it; we all fight over the last piece. The mixture of texture and taste is so scrumptious!!! We made it with regular cool whip instead of strawberry though.
