Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Beat cream cheese in large bowl with mixer until creamy. Add graham crumbs, sugar, lemon juice and 1 tsp. lemon zest; mix well.
  • Scoop cream cheese mixture into 24 (1-inch) balls, using about 1 Tbsp. cream cheese mixture for each ball. Place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. Freeze 10 min.
  • Melt chocolate as directed on package. Dip cream cheese balls, 1 at a time, into melted chocolate, turning until evenly coated with chocolate. Return to baking sheet; sprinkle with remaining zest.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.

Special Equipment Needed

Size Wise

Truffles make a sweet treat that is perfect for gift-giving or for serving on a special occasion.

If necessary, re-roll each partially frozen cream cheese ball into round ball before dipping in the melted chocolate. Since the cream cheese balls will soften quickly at room temperature, remove them from the freezer in small batches before dipping in chocolate as directed.

How to Evenly Portion the Cream Cheese Mixture

Use a small cookie scoop to evenly portion the cream cheese mixture for each truffle.

Ratings & Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Creamy lemony, perfect taste ! I always make truffles at holidays and came across this one and since my hubby loves lemon, thought I would try them. The filling is great flavor and nice and creamy. I did have to freeze them to be able to roll them, it just makes it easier. I also found they should be kept chilled because at room temp the filling gets a little too soft for my usual truffle experience. Good flavor, just keep chilled up to point of eating them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good Was attracted to this recipe because of the lemon flavour and wasn't disappointed. I found I needed to put the truffles in the freezer for 20 minutes (10 minutes wasn't long enough) and I got them out one at a time. My lemon didn't give me enough zest to sprinkle some on the top of the chocolate so I decorated them with tiny white chocolate stars instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Special Treat I wanted to try different truffle receipes for the holidays. These are outstanding. Nice creamy center of tasty lemon. Everyone loved them. You may need to roll into better balls after you freeze them. The cream cheese mixture gets a bit to soft to roll into balls prior to freezing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What a waste! While these are easy to make, I feel I wasted the ingredients. The filling was softer than it should have been, and they were a mess to coat. I followed recipe exactly. I will never try these again.
