I have made this quite a few times.I have used different flavors and it always turns out great.I have read a few comments saying it didnt set.The trick is to make sure the jello is thickened before adding the cool whip.If its not thick enough with just the ice i chill for a little bit until its like unbeaten egg whites or a tad thicker. Its different each time. One time just the ice cubes work, other times i chill 5-10 minutes.I recommend this greatly.I had gastric bypass surgery and while we are supposed to shy from treats once in a while you need one and this one hits the spot to me.Flavor and color wise use red ones.I tried it with peach once and it was light in color and peach flavor.Reds always work great.I made my nieces and nephews laugh once using berry blue regular jello.

First let me say I was one of the condumers who made this recipe as part of the initial study for it and was taken to the point I kept the recipe to do again. Since then I've found friends who have developed Diabetes, and by switching to sugar free jello and sugar free artificial topping, I can give them desserts that can be used by them as well as others at the table as Splenda, usually what manufactures are using in sugar free recipes, has no after taste. Well done Kraft.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this recipe for the first time today. I made this recipe for the first time today. Only problem was after chilling for 10 minutes in refrigerator, it didn't 'mound' in the pie crust. It's all lumpy and doesn't look like the picture at all. The next time I make it, I will pour the mixture directly into the pie crust. I have to take these pies to a Mother Daughter banquet today and I'm not happy about how they look at all.

It is easy to make and keeps us within our points. Completely satisfies our sweet cravings. We love the orange pie, but we made the lemon, Outstanding! Taste almost like lemon meringue pie. LOVE THIS PIE. Took some to our Dr. office for the nurses. We pass the recipe on to everyone who will listen.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've made this recipe so many times I could do it with my eyes closed. I've made this recipe so many times I could do it with my eyes closed. I have also served this in pretty dessert glasses, use a vanilla waffer on the bottom of the glass and spoon the gelatin mixture on top and garnish as the recipe says. When I first made this back in the late70's it was called Light and Fruity Pie. What ever the name it is deeeelish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'm trying to get my whole family eating right and exercising. I'm trying to get my whole family eating right and exercising. The trouble is, everyone's a sugar addict! This recipe was a hit with ALL of them! Even the finicky youngest one said this was great! I was surprised to find there was no "sugarless" after-taste! I put fresh strawberries in the jello mix & everyone ranted about this dessert! Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DH and I are diabetic. DH and I are diabetic. So I make this using sugar free jello. I did find if you use fat free coolwhip it will not thicken, so I do use regualr cool whip. I have made all flavors. No, it is not like a rich pie laden with calories, but it is so good that even my non diabetic friends have commented how great it is!
