A fudgy brownie batter is baked in a chocolate chip cookie crust for a decadent dessert. Extra cookies are placed decoratively around the pie’s edge.

What You Need

 chocolate chip cookies (2 inch), divided

Tbsp.  butter or margarine
1/2
cup  light corn syrup
2
oz.  BAKER'S Unsweetened Chocolate, coarsely chopped
3
 eggs
1/2
cup  sugar
2
tsp.  vanilla
1
cup  thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 325°F. Cut 6 of the cookies crosswise in half with serrated knife; set aside. Finely crush remaining 19 cookies. Melt butter; mix with cookie crumbs until well blended. Press firmly onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate.

MICROWAVE corn syrup in medium microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min. or until it starts to boil. Add chocolate; stir until completely melted. Blend in eggs, sugar and vanilla. Pour into crust.

BAKE 15 min. Insert cookie halves, cut-sides down, around edge of filling, overlapping slightly if necessary to fit. Bake an additional 15 to 20 min. or until filling is set, tenting pie with foil for the last 5 to 10 min. if excessive browning occurs. Cool. Spread whipped topping over pie. Garnish with chocolate curls, if desired. Store leftovers in refrigerator.

How to Crush Cookies
Place cookies in electric blender or food processor container; blend until finely crushed. Or, place cookies in resealable plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.
How to Make Chocolate Curls
Place 1 wrapped square of chocolate in microwave. Microwave on DEFROST for about 1 min. to warm slightly. Or, place wrapped chocolate in a warm place, such as on top of refrigerator or under a strong light, for several hours, then carefully pull a vegetable peeler over the smooth surfaces of the chocolate square to form curls. Scrape along the bottom for long curls or along the sides for short curls. Use a toothpick to lift the curls without breaking them. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator or freezer.
