It was a mutual agreement that there needed to be more cheese in the recipe, maybe extra cubes of Valveeta cheese or something, and the recipe could do without brocolli. We thought instead we could try onions. Maybe less eggs too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a great recipe, with some modifications. This is a great recipe, with some modifications. I knew it would be too bland and too high-fat for my family's tastes, so I followed the recommendations of others here. I used two boxes of regular blue-box MacNCheese (the powder kind), made as directed on the box but with half the margarine and non-fat milk. I used the same amount of broccoli in this recipe (*not* cooked with the noodles) and double the ham. I added a whole chopped onion and a large clove of pressed garlic, and about 1/2 a teaspoon of dry hot mustard. It could even have been spicier, with a dash of Tabasco. Also to cut cholesterol I used two whole eggs and 3 egg whites. Finally, I added some extra fine bread crumbs to the cheese topping and sprayed the top thoroughly with butter flavor baking spray to make a crispy but non-fattening topping. I baked it all in a large 9"x13" casserole/ cake pan at 350 for about 30 minutes, then increased it to 425 for 10 minutes to brown the top. Delicious! We have enough leftovers for

After my mother made this for my kids and it was so very dry, I read the recipe myself and realized she used the traditional dry mix mac & cheese, not the DELUXE with the sauce packet! I've since made it with the Deluxe Mac & Cheese (which the recipe calls for) and it is quite good and not dry.

(If I make again though, I'll use low fat cheese and egg beaters to make reduce the fat and calories).

I made it last night and it is sooo bland. I actually added some pepper and salt ahead of time and it is still bland. I've removed it from my recipe box. It looks better than it tastes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I also had high hopes for this recipe. I also had high hopes for this recipe. I can understand that you do need eggs in order to have it set, but I was a little surprised to see that it called for 4 eggs. In the end, it was more of a quiche with macaroni in it. I was disappointed with the lack of cheesiness.

It was too dry (and I added milk) it tasted liked I madethe boxed mac and cheese with the powdered cheese and just added the extra ingedients to it. Don't know what the eggs were supposed to do. Waste if costly ingredients.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved this recipe. Loved this recipe. It is very easy and it is great for leftovers. If you don't like very dense dishes this one isn't for you. I also added more broccoli and it gave it more flavor. Definitely a recipe I use often when I don't have the time to make a full meal!

This is simple and quick, but agree with a few other comments about it being a little bland. I added stewed tomatoes (with some liquid) making it moist, but think Italian seasoning (or basil) added to the beaten eggs would greatly improve this dish.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I added a little bread crumbs and Onion as a previous comment suggested. I added a little bread crumbs and Onion as a previous comment suggested. The flavor was pretty good but it was a little dry. If you use a large glass pie pan it only makes one. Next time I'll add more ham and some velveeta into the mac n cheese.

I'm trying to figure out how to make it cheesier. I might leave out some of the macaroni next time. It just wasn't what I thought it would be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from this was ok.not something I would make frequently. this was ok.not something I would make frequently. Has a strong broccoli taste for what you put in, which I liked. I think I would next time add shredded cheese with the egg and creamy cheese mixture to give it more flavor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We all loved this! We all loved this! I did add 1/2 cup thinly sliced onion strips & it boosted the flavor up a nice notch. Other than the high sodium content, which we made allowance for the next day, this will be a "keeper"!
