What You Need

1/4

cup KRAFT Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing

Tbsp. A.1. Original Steak Sauce, divided

Tbsp. packed brown sugar

cloves garlic, minced

boneless beef sirloin steak (1 lb.)

Tbsp. olive oil

large onion, thinly sliced

Make It

MIX dressing, 2 Tbsp. steak sauce, sugar and garlic until blended. Pour over steak in shallow glass dish; turn steak to coat both sides. Refrigerate 1 hour to marinate.

HEAT oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add onions; cook and stir 5 min. Cover; cook on medium-low heat 15 min. or until onions are golden brown, stirring occasionally.

MEANWHILE, heat broiler. Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Place steak on broiler pan. Broil steak, 4 inches from heat, 8 min. on each side or until done (160ºF). Remove from heat; cover. Let stand 5 min. before cutting across the grain into thin slices. Stir remaining steak sauce into onions. Serve with meat.

Prepare using a beef flank steak and reducing the cooking time to 6 min. on each side.

OMG! This was so awesome! I had another recipe that said you could boil the marinate and use it on the steak so I did. I substituted balsamic vinegar for the dressing and it worked fine....so yummy! My hubby says "it's a keeper!"

I doubled recipe, including the oil to cook onions. The onions didn't carmelize. I'm guessing too much oil? Very good flavor.

This is one of my favorite steak stretching recipes. Great flavor. I even make onions like this for our burgers sometimes. I love this recipe served with couscous for a quick supper.

I was excited to try this but I was very disappointed with the marinade. I didn't have A.1 steak sauce so I made my own, I use 2 parts BBQ sauce & 1 part Worcestershire sauce. It looks and tastes exactly like A.1. I just didn't think balsamic vinaigrette is a good match with the other ingredients. My husband enjoyed it though. I served it with peas and French fries.

Excellent marinade - enhances the meat's natural flavor, not change or disguise it. Mmm! Mmm! And the onions are it's best friend.

We are picking eaters and both my husband and I really liked this steak. We like our meat well done so I cooked it 12 min. on each side.

I have made this several times. It's easy and flavorful. I usually add some mushroom with the onions as well.
