This was such a wonderful and easy recipe that I had my 8 year old make it (I helped with the microwave of course) but this is wonderful for little helpers that want to learn how to cook. and best of all it does not involved the oven. We added sprinkles to give a decorative look. I can't wait to make it again.

This has been a favorite and affordable treat to make all year round. Thank you for the quick hints to use the microwave instead of the stove top . My 7 & 9 year olds enjoy helping me make this treat for the soldiers.

Use chocolate cereal, add extras like chopped nuts, dried fruit, sunflower or flax seeds or a combination to equal the amout of cereal called for. You can also increase the cereal to 8 cups for a less sticky treat. Use a mixture of your favorite cereals, you don't have to stick with the rice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've made this recipe for years & years. I've made this recipe for years & years. I've always used my microwave & found that it takes a really large bowl, since the marshmallows expand a lot! Also, I always add a tsp of vanilla after the marshmallows melt, before adding the cereal. It really gives the crispies a yummy flavor!

I usually cut it right after its stale and eat it.. but it just tastes stale. I use fresh cereal and fresh everything else. Is any one else dealing with this or just me?

Who doesn't already know this recipe by heart and has been making it forever? Yes, it's a all-time favorite, but certainly not original. Sorry, don't mean to be negative; just surprised to see it here.

It was very easy to make with children, the microwave directions made it safe to do with toddlers. I sprayed the bowl, spoon, and wax paper, clean up was easy. Great recipe to introduce children to cooking....
