I added some diced ham to this just to spruce it up a bit, it was good with the ham, but I think the ham might have taken away some of the cheesy taste. Seemed like it was missing something like it could have maybe used some salt, or maybe a bit more cheese. So if you use ham try it with salted butter or possibly use a slight bit more cheese to add a bit to the dish. Without the ham it probably wouldn't take any tweaking at all and would be fine with unsalted butter. Besides, you can always add salt later to your taste. Overall I rated this very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My picky eaters loved this. My picky eaters loved this. This is the only mac and cheese I have gotten them to eat that wasn't out of a box! I did look at others reviews and change thing in the recipe accordingly. I doubled the cheese and the egg and added an extra cup of milk. I pre-made this in the morning baked for 15 to get the cheese melted and mixed so noodles wouldn't dry out, I covered and placed in refrigerator then baked (it took the full 30 min to heat through). This dish turned out awesome! I made 2 13x9 pans and after baking froze 1 so I'm excited to see how it does!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have been searching for decades for the best easiest mac'n'cheese. I have been searching for decades for the best easiest mac'n'cheese. The search is over. My family voted it by far the BEST EVER. I added cracker crumbs more sharp cheddar and 3 or so cups of milk to keep it moist. I used large size elbows and A teaspoon or so of Hickory Smoked Paprica. I also used two eggs and added the Paprika to the milk egg mixture I used fresh ground pepper and a touch of sea salt. Jusat the best ever Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This the BEST MAC & CHEESE that I have ever made. This the BEST MAC & CHEESE that I have ever made. I am always being asked to make it. One slight addition I have done is that I take one sleeve of RITZ crackers and crush them. I then saute them with one-half stick of butter. I put this on top when I take it out to mix it. (what is a few more calories among friends). Mmmmmmmmmm good!! I know you will enjoy this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real winner! A real winner! Carb and fat watchers like myself can further trim it without loss of flavor by using a reduced carb pasta (such as Dreamfields, or whole wheat), Kraft "Free" Shredded Cheddar Cheese, an enhanced skim milk (one of those that tastes more like whole milk) in addition to the VELVEETA LIGHT. Add a green salad and you'll be in "light" rapture.

My husband is a mac & cheese fantatic and would give this 4 stars-he said it tasted just like his grandmothers. I found it to have a grainy-not smooth-texture which I did not care for (why I gave it 3 stars). Perhaps melting the Velveeta and cheese together first then mixing with the noodles would help the texture.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I tripled this recipe for a large party and it was awful! I tripled this recipe for a large party and it was awful! This makes the first recipe from Kraftfoods that I have not liked. Maybe I messed up the measurements, but it had absolutely zero flavor. No taste at all and not nearly enough cheese. I now have tons of leftovers which I am doctoring up to make eatable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent mac-n-cheese! Excellent mac-n-cheese! This was the first time I'd made it from scratch and not the lil' blue box and it was SO yummy! My grandma used to make mac-n-cheese and I never liked it - I don't think she used the Velveeta, which is what I think helps to hold everything together. My two-year-old gobbled this up too!
