Magazine Acquisition

What You Need

medium  red potatoes, peeled, cubed (about 8 cups)
medium  pears, peeled, cored and chopped
Tbsp.  butter
cup  PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Spread
tsp.  ground nutmeg

Make It

PLACE potatoes and pears in saucepan. Add enough water to completely cover ingredients in pan. Bring to boil on medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 15 min. or until tender. Drain. Add butter; mash until butter is melted and mixture is well blended.

ADD cream cheese spread and nutmeg; continue to mash until creamy and well blended. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.

Prepare as directed, substituting 5 medium sweet potatoes, 2 bananas and ground ginger for the red potatoes, pears and nutmeg.
Prepare as directed, substituting 9 turnips, 2 apples and ground allspice for the red potatoes, pears and nutmeg.
Prepare as directed, substituting 20 medium carrots, 1/2 cup drained canned crushed pineapple and ground cinnamon for the red potatoes, pears and nutmeg.
