Rated 5 out of 5 by from I omit the cake all together and use frozen fruit instead of pie filling. I omit the cake all together and use frozen fruit instead of pie filling. I have made it sugar free (using sugar free jell-o, pudding, and cool whip) for occasions when diabetics are attending and no one can ever tell the difference! I have also done different flavors of jello with different fruits. I have done orange (I use the canned mandarin oranges in juice - not syrup), peach, strawberry, cherry (I have used frozen black cherries and also maraschino cherries - both are very good!!) This has become my staple dish at every get together and if I don't bring it, people get upset! I recommend this dish whole-heartedly... It is a beautiful dish that looks like it took a lot of effort, even though it's very simple.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this to take to a meeting where everyone brought a dessert to share. I made this to take to a meeting where everyone brought a dessert to share. I got compliments from several people there, and also from the people at work who ate the rest. I made it in my Pyrex Portables bowl, which I think was maybe a 4 QT size. The only thing I would change would be to get a little bigger container of Cool Whip so that the final (top) layer that I spread over the pudding/Cool Whip mixture could've been a little bit thicker. Otherwise it was very easy to put together and made a nice, light dessert.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! Awesome! I made this for my family at Thanksgiving they licked the bowl and begged me to make it again for Christmas. It is very time consuming to make but well worth it. People go oou-ahh when they see it and they love to eat it. My brother doesn't like cherries and he loves this dessert. I use 1% milk, lite cool whip and store bought angel food cake and it turns out perfect. It is a very impressive looking dessert that is light on the tummy - great after a full meal. You can make it the day before. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm please to day I made this for Easter and all loved it. I'm please to day I made this for Easter and all loved it. But I put strawberry & cherry jello (sugarfree) together, with 24 oz. frozen (thawed) strawberries, used fat free lactose free milk, because of the liquid in the strawberries I used only (1) of cold water in the jello, fat free cool whip, It was topped with (1) can of pie cherries. Noone could tell that sugar was only in the strawberries and cherries. "WHAT A GREAT DESERT" Thank-you

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this last night for a birthday party and it was a big hit! I made this last night for a birthday party and it was a big hit!!! It was a little time-consuming, but just plan ahead and take your time. It turns out perfect when you do. Many of our guests had seconds; always a good judge of its rating. It's great for Christmas time with its red color and will be wonderful for a summer dessert since it is so light and cold. Looked great in my pedestal clear bowl. This is a keeper for easiness!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this for a family Christmas party. I made this for a family Christmas party. I wanted something light and non-chocolate...this fit the bill. Everyone went crazy over it! I can see this being refreshing for a summer party also. It did take a lot of time to wait for the Jell-O to set in between layers, but was nonetheless very easy to make. I can't wait to make this again and try substituting strawberries as was suggested by other posters.

I used white chocolate pudding and it was awesome! An aunt who does not like any kind of gelatin had a piece and was very impressed with it. I would highly recommend this dessert if you want something light and fruity. This is a good dessert to make any time of the year.

It was a nice lighter dessert to have after a filling meal. A little time consuming to make, due to waiting on the jello, but definately worth the wait!!! Everyone wanted the recipe and I will definately make again! Superb!!
