  • Heat oven to 375ºF.
  • Brown meat with onions and garlic in large skillet; drain. Return meat mixture to skillet.
  • Combine cheese, coating mix and Dry Rub. Add half the cheese mixture to meat mixture along with the mixed vegetables and tomato sauce; stir. Cook 5 min. or until heated through, stirring frequently.
  • Spoon into 2-qt. casserole sprayed with cooking spray; cover with potatoes. Top with remaining cheese mixture.
  • Bake 20 min. or until heated through.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wasnt too impressed. Wasnt too impressed. thought the top would be more crusted but it didnt really come out the way i hoped. the mesquite mixture did give it a different flavor that was pretty good. ill probably stick with the kraft foods updated shepherds pie recipe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good One Pot Meal It turned out picture perfect! The family really liked it, but I had to substitute the mesquite rub because I could not find it. As it turned out, that was the part of the recipe they didn't care for; it left an aftertaste that was weird. I will tweak this until it fits our family; the base is fantastic.
