  • Heat oven to 375ºF.
  • Prepare muffin batter as directed on package; spoon into 24 mini muffin pan cups sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Press 1 each VELVEETA cube and hot dog slice into batter in center of each muffin cup.
  • Bake 10 to 12 min. or until golden brown. Cool 5 min. before removing from pans. Serve warm with mustard.

Read reviews before ****** & generously sprayed cups with Pam, another reason they stick, is if the cup is filled with too much batter, it overflows & sticks to the top of the pan & makes it difficult to remove, they also tear. Second try I only filled cups halfway, much better results, also used cheddar and diced american cheeses, separately not together. Extra muffins also freeze & store well, reheat in microwave. Very good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this for a football party and everyone loved it! I made this for a football party and everyone loved it! Next time I am going to try this in a 9x9 pan. I only had 1 mini muffin pan so I put the remainder in a loaf pan and cut it up. The food stuck to the mini muffin pan (even though I sprayed it) and the loaf pan came out easy. (I used turkey hot dogs and no one knew the difference!)

Yes, even with heavy spraying they stuck to the pan, so I ran a table knife around each one to loosen it. I felt they needed something, since the Velveeta melted into the cornbread as it baked.

I made eighteen and they all cooked over the top. I will now make another batch and try it with less batter. I also bought the turkey lil' smokies for a more authentic corn dog look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good. Very good. Grand kids loved them along with the adults. I used the Mexican corn bread mix and used the mini cocktail dogs and it worked fine and saved the time of cutting up the hot dogs. Little smokies would be good in these too.

I would recommend using the little paper/aluminum liners next time. Also, I didn't see where the cheese added a great deal of flavor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A nice appetizer. A nice appetizer. Make sure you don't buy "bun-size" hot dogs because the pieces are almost too big. I might have liked them better if I'd used regular size hot dogs. I will definitely try them again.
