What You Need

pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix

pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

egg

Tbsp. sugar

Mini OREO Bite Size Cookies

1-1/2

cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

PREPARE cake batter as directed on package. Mix cream cheese, egg and sugar until well blended.

SPOON half the cake batter into 24 paper-lined muffin cups. Top each with about 1-1/2 tsp. cream cheese mixture and 1 cookie; cover with remaining cake batter.

BAKE 19 to 22 min. or until toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. Cool 5 min.; remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely.

FROST with COOL WHIP. Top with remaining cookies.

These cupcakes were delicious! I took them to a Labor Day cookout and everyone loved them! They were even better later when they were cold from being stored in the refrigerator!

We made this as birthday cupcakes, and made both chocolate, and changed the cake mix to yellow cake for one of the twin's that doesn't care for chocolate. They loved them all!!

These turned out yummy and pretty much like the picture. I used a buttercream icing mixed with crushed oreos instead of the cool whip. I agree with other reviewers, the cream cheese filling needs a little something more to give it flavor. I tried vanilla but it still needs some tweaking.

This is now a go to recipe for me. I think that 2 tablespoons of sugar is a little less than needed, and you can easily add more cream cheese mix to the cupcake. Love it with french vanilla cool whip!
