Food Facts

Purchasing and Storing Fresh Chicken: Remember these food safety tips when purchasing fresh chicken. First, put fresh chicken into your grocery cart just before checking out of the store. Make sure the chicken is very cold to the touch and the package is not torn or leaking. Place chicken package inside a plastic bag before placing in the grocery cart to keep any juices from touching other food items. At home, immediately refrigerate chicken and use within 2 days. Or, overwrap with heavy-duty aluminum foil or freezer paper and freeze for up to 6 months.

Special Extra

Add 1/4 cup sliced black olives along with tomato and cheese.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another hit with my family! Another hit with my family! They really enjoyed this one also. I changed the recipe alittle bit. To make it more spicy and alittle bite to it, I shredded Pepper Jack Cheese, instead of using Cheddar, then added 1/2 tsp. more of Chilli Powder, and a can of drained Spiced Tomatoes. Also when I served it I topped each dish with Frenches Cheddar French Fried Onion Rings for extra flavor and texture. I like dressing up my recipes to hopefully improve them. Thanks again for another great recipe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! This recipe was excellent and so easy to prepare. It had just the right amount of spice and left my husband and I wanting more! I did change it up a bit, I used brown rice instead of white and low-fat mayo in place of the whip. However, because I used the brown rice the meal had to cook longer but that was perfect because I used frozen chicken beasts. The rice/chicken cooked about 50 minutes and was awesome!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe was so simple to make. This recipe was so simple to make. I already had all of the ingredients. I used chicken breast tenders instead of halves. It turned out great. I feel a sense of satisfaction when I can make the meal look just like the picture. I thought it would be too spicy, but it was just right for my taste. My husband loved it. When you have to whip up something at the last minute this dish is sure to satisfy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First time making this recipe this week. First time making this recipe this week. Our rice looked like it was oging to dry out, so we supplemented with extra chicken broth as it cooked (ended up using approx. double what the recipe called for). Rice turned out very moist and creamy. Also, we were out of chili powder (oops) but sub'd a mix of oregano, lemon herb, and cajun seasoning--yum.

I've made this recipe tens of times...and each and every time at least one person requests the recipe. My neice calls it "chicken supreme" and asks for it frequently. Delicious results from an easy and fail-proof recipe. PLUS...all the the ingredients are always on hand...it's good basic stuff. Nice job!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was so easy to make and delicious. This was so easy to make and delicious. I used brown rice since I didn't have the instant type. I just cooked it in the skillet with plenty of water about 30 min. I then added chicken bullion rather than the boxed type, put the chicken and rest of ingredients, covered it and cooked another half hour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent recipe and easy to make! Excellent recipe and easy to make! I added a can of asparagus (chopped) at the end of the recipe with the cheese and tomatoes. My husband loved it. He liked the way the asparagus complimented the rice! We will be making this recipe again. Thanks Kraftfoods.com for sharing these recipes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was very good. This was very good. Even my picky family members liked it. I really liked the rice and it gave the chicken a good flavor. My kids really liked the melted cheese mixed in with the rice. This was very quick and easy and used ingredients I had on hand. I will definitely make again.
