Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone loved this recipe. Everyone loved this recipe. Even my boyfriend was back for seconds, and he claims not to like sweets! I made it without the cinnamon or cappuccino, and it was perfect. The leftovers are quite good too if you just microwave it a bit. Will definitely be making this again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My twin sister and I made the cake yesterday for our 23rd birthday. My twin sister and I made the cake yesterday for our 23rd birthday. The cake was delicious, but I had to put another baking sheet at the bottom of the 13x9 baking sheet because I was afraid that the cake will make a mess in the oven! I was having a difficult time finding Italian cappiccino, so I used chocolate flavored coffe instead. I also used vanilla extract for the cake instead of cinnamon. My parents loved the cake, but it was too much chocolate for my mom! I will make the cake again, but I'm not going to use chocolate pudding!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is one dangerous cake! This is one dangerous cake! I've been on a diet for a while and this is the only thing that's made me break it! IT WAS WORTH EVERY MORSEL OF IT!!! (I don't think the cappuccino is necessary, nor the chocolate chips. They would not detract from the recipe if they were not included.) My husband would slightly reheat his pieces and totally enjoyed every bite! This is a winner!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My husband & I went to special friend's home for dinner and I took this cake for dessert. My husband & I went to special friend's home for dinner and I took this cake for dessert. We all enjoyed it very much. I have just emailed the recipe to them. I did not add the Itatian Cappuccino mix or the cinnamon because I wanted to try it plain first. The next time I make this I will try adding the pudding in large dollops over more of the surface of the cake.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this for Thanksgiving. I made this for Thanksgiving. It was pretty good. I couldn't find the coffee listed in the recipe so I used Suisse Mocha. It trurned out good, but I would not add the cinnamon again. It gave it a funny taste. If you're eating this after it's cooled to room temp I suggest microwaving it before serving. It tastes best warm.

I loved the taste, but it should be made for a large group so you don't have leftovers because once it gets cold it is not as good, you have to warm it up in the microwave and it is not as good warmed up. I expected it to be excellant since I am a chocolate lover but it let me down, but again worth making.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The cake was good. The cake was good. It was tough to decide if it was done since the middle is basically all chocolate pudding. My family thought it was good but we are not so sure we would want it again. There was no WOW factor in my house. We've had better.

This recipe just didn't do anything for me, it tasted like it needed another flavor-maybe some raspberry or something? I felt like it was overpoweringly chocolatey and sweet, but without depth. Maybe I'm just not enough of a chocoholic....
