Here is the original recipe from the back of the Minute Rice box that would have a better flavor than the "simplified" recipe posted: 2/3 cup instant rice 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup pineapple juice 1/4 teaspoon salt 12 marshmallows, quartered 6 maraschino cherries, diced 3/4 cup crushed pineapple, drained 1 banana, diced 1 Tablespoon sugar 1 cup heavy cream, whipped Combine instant rice, water, pineapple juice, and salt in saucepan. Mix just until all rice is moistened. Bring quickly to a boil over high heat, uncovered, fluffing rice gently one or twice with a fork. (Do not stir.) Cover and simmer 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes. Add marshmallows, cherries, pineapple and banana. Chill. Add sugar to whipped cream and fold into rice mixture. Chill until serving time.

I dont understand why the last reviewer left a recipe. If i wanted an original recipe I would have searched myself.I looked and was interested in the simplified version.I guess I dont have as much time as this reviewer to make it from scratch. But then again I am not too picky to use convenience products.Must be me.

Not enough taste and the texture was not appealing. My husband tried it and dumped it. Sorry I can't give a better review, but it was not what I expected or would serve to guests.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It tasted ok. It tasted ok. Lots of left overs (never a good sign!!) You have to make sure to drain the fruit really really well. I enede up adding more cool whip to the left overs so my family would eat it and not throw it out
