  • Cook mushrooms and onions in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat 10 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Add dressing, garlic and thyme; cook 5 to 7 min. or until mushrooms are tender, stirring frequently. Transfer to bowl; cover to keep warm. Add chicken to skillet; cook 5 min. on each side or until done (165ºF).
  • Top chicken with mushrooms and cheese; cover. Cook 2 to 4 min. or until cheese is melted; sprinkle with chives.

Of course, we added more spices to the chicken, and want to doctor up the mushrooms a little, too, but both kids & grown-ups in our house loved this recipe. You have to make it your own- just the thyme & chives are not going to be enough spice for some, but for others, that's perfect. We need more flavor, personally, but this is a great basic recipe to start with, and then spice things as you see fit. Try it! It's healthy, easy, and delicious!

The chicken breasts I had were a little thick, and even after pounding them out thinner, they required a little extra cooking time. I just cut in to them a little to check for doneness before topping them with the mushrooms, cheese, and chives. Only substitution I made was Zesty Italian dressing since I didn't have balsamic! Make this, you'll love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really liked this recipe. I really liked this recipe. I think next time though, I will substitute dried basil for fresh thyme to keep the cost of the ingredients down a little. This went great with a mixed green salad (with the vinaigrette dressing) for a healthy dinner!

It has very delicious. I added sliced red bell peppers to the mushroom mix to give it color and garnished it with broccoli. I submitted a picture.

It seemed a little bland and the seasonings were a little off, but maybe it was the dressing we used (which wasn't exactly the Kraft dressing specified).

I did not try the cooking creme as someone suggested, but plan to add that the next time I make it. Delish!
