Apples are hollowed out, filled with chopped fat-free fig cookies, drizzled with apple juice, then baked until tender for a comforting dessert.

What You Need

medium apples

 NEWTONS Fat Free Fig Fruit Chewy Cookies, coarsely chopped
1/2
tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2
tsp. grated lemon zest

tsp. margarine or butter
1
cup unsweetened apple juice

Tbsp. lemon juice

Make It

CORE apples, removing seeds and pulp to make 1-1/4-inch wide cavity. zest off strip around top of each apple.

MIX chopped cookies, cinnamon and lemon peel. Spoon into apple cavities; press filling firmly into each cavity.

PLACE apples in 13x9-inch baking dish. Dot tops of apples with margarine. Mix apple juice and lemon juice; drizzle over apples.

BAKE at 350°F for 45 to 55 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm.
