  • Brown meat in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat; drain. Add seasoning mix, water and Macaroni; mix well. Bring to boil; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 7 min. or until macaroni is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  • Add sour cream and Cheese Sauce Mix; mix well.
  • Top with remaining ingredients.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OUTSTANDING! OUTSTANDING! All the taste of tacos, without the shells! I made this last night and even my 2-1/2 year old ate it. I added sliced green onion and a little shredded cheddar - and instead of adding the lettuce and tomato to the skillet, I had it chopped on the side so that we could add what we wanted. A really great, easy dish that has already become a favorite in our household. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was a hit with my family, especially my SUPER picky 10 year old. This was a hit with my family, especially my SUPER picky 10 year old. I didn't have taco seasoning, so I used some garlic powder and chili powder instead. We each added our own lettuce/tomatoes/chips. I topped mine with salsa for extra flavor. I might add a can of corn or some black olives next time, but I will definitely make this again. There were no leftovers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great meal that my kids loved! This is a great meal that my kids loved!! Especially after a later baseball game it is quick and easy to make. By the time my son is out of the shower, this is ready to eat. The one change I made was I used Scoops and scooped it up instead of crushing the chips on the top. That way if there are any leftovers the chips don't get soggy.

I would recommend that if you know for sure that you will leftovrs, then I would add the toppings when you plate your dinner. It serves about 4 portions so if its two of you don't add the toppings. It will be easier the next day to re heat everything.

There are too many noodles for the amount of other ingredients. I would not use more than 3/4 of the noodles, if that, depending on how many people you have to serve. (But I think there are too many noodles when I make the regular mac and cheese too.)

One change to this recipe that has made it better for our family is not adding the lettuce, tomatoes and chips to the pasta mix. It made it more convenient to refrigerate the left over pasta. No soggy lettuce!

I ofcourse left out the lettuce,tomato, sour cream and chips (for him, not me!) and I added onion to the meat mixture. He went back for thirds! I think next time, I might add some corn for more crunch. Great way to use up all the boxes of mac-n-cheese I have on hand.

I really didn't think I would like this (mac & cheese and taco meat didn't sound completely appetizing), but my boyfriend wanted to try it...and we loved it! Added some diced onions just before the pasta was done cooking with the beef. Super easy & quick, and VERY tasty.
