Base recipe is a little bland, but after some tweaks, this is a regular in my meal rotation - so quick and easy! I always add a can of Rotel and a small can of diced green chiles to the simmer, along with about 1/2 can of rinsed black beans. I also add about 1/3 packet of taco seasoning to the mean when I brown it. I don't add nearly that much corn (it's a LOT of corn, which has no nutritional value), and I don't bother with the green onions (they're just a garnish). A little sour cream makes it nice and creamy, too :-) Even my husband, who hates casseroles, loves it now!

I even added some minced garlic with the meat. I uses Boca Crumbles as well. It did lack any flavor profile. And it was too dry... there just was too much macaroni per liquid ratio and it was just blah... I didn't hate it. We served it with tortilla baked scoops and it was better with the saltiness in the background but as a main entree, I think not. I will not be making this again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I was disappointed in this one. I was disappointed in this one. It was too bland - it lacked flavor. I made it as the recipe read except I used only 1 cup of corn instead of 2. We sprinkled the shredded cheese and green onions on top yet ended up needing to add a blend of additional spices that I keep on hand to help spice it up. That helped the flavor somewhat but the dish also seemed so heavy. This recipe won't make it into my recipe box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We really liked this dinner. We really liked this dinner. I made it for the first time a few nights ago and all the left over are gone! I will make this dinner again! I didn't buy the Macaroni and cheese with 2% milk, I made it with the regular macaroni and cheese. It was very rich, so I will use the 2% mac and cheese next time! I also used the whole bag of corn, because I only had a little left after putting in the 2 cups.

I added 1/2 bell pepper, 1/2 red pepper, and 1/2 yellow pepper and then cut the corn down to just 1 cup. I did add a little bit of the chili pepper. It was great. I did season the ground beef when it was browning with salt & pepper. It would be an easy subsitute for chili on those cold winter nights. Served with a salad and dessert would make a great meal for a crowd to watch TV.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just a note. Just a note. Our family has been making this for years. When my children were small, working didn't leave alot of time for cooking. They loved Kraft Mac n Cheese, so....it was a logical easy choice. We used jars of spaghetti sauce with the macaroni, or jars of chili, dennisons or whomever. The kids loved it we called it chili mac. Just an old favorite as far as we are concerned!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made this recipe in the afternoon for dinner tonight. Made this recipe in the afternoon for dinner tonight. After I finished preparing it, I transferred it to a casserole dish and sprinkled it with Kraft shredded cheese, covered and refrigerated it. I reheated it in the oven for 15 min. at 350. Family loved it, I loved the ease and virtually mess free prep. Great mix of tastes and textures and a quick alternative to taco's.

I added some taco seasoning to the ground beef for some flavor and kick, added a can of diced tomatoes and used only about 1/2 of the cheese from the Mac and Cheese Package...and it was a big hit! Really easy to put together and it was hard to decided whether to finish it for dinner or save some for lunch the next day. I would def. make this again!
