What You Need

cups flour

tsp. baking powder

tsp. salt

1/2

cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened

3/4

cup sugar

eggs

Tbsp. grated orange zest

tsp. vanilla

cup PLANTERS Slivered Almonds, toasted

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 375°F. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl; set aside. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs, orange zest and vanilla; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well after each addition.

KNEAD almonds into dough on floured surface. Divide dough into 2 equal portions. Shape each portion into 12x2-inch log on greased baking sheet.

BAKE 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from baking sheet. Place on cutting board; cool 15 minutes. Using serrated knife, cut each log diagonally into 1-inch-thick slices. Place, cut sides up, on baking sheet. Bake an additional 10 minutes on each side or until lightly toasted and dry. Remove from baking sheet. Cool on wire rack. Store in airtight container at room temperature.

This came out better than I thought. I used some other people's suggestions too. I added an extra 1/2 tsp. of orange extract & used a cup of orange flavored cranberries instead of the almonds (for those I know who aren't big nut fans.) All in all, very pleased. It was the first biscotti I ever made.

this is a different something to make when everyone else brings cookies/cakes/and pies to go with coffee.I used whole roasted almonds which gave it a very pretty look on the cut. Also most electric knifes come with a "bread blade" which works very well. Plan to make these on Mother's day for church.

I substituted the almonds for 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips, and it was a great addition, made them a little more moist, but I had to cook them a little longer before cutting. This was my first time making biscotti and I was very pleased with the results.

I liked this recipe. But i changed it a lot. Instead of almonds i mixed semi-sweet chocolate chips in the dough. THIS MADE IT VERY GOOD. It tasted just like orange chocolate. I didn't quite add the full two tablespoons of orange but next time I definately will. I also added an icing on top. I mixed powdered sugar and two tablespoons of orange juice. It was very good. You can also put Chocolate icing on it with the tangy one by using milke and cocoa powder and powdered sugar. I really liked the way these orange-chocolate biscotti's turned out!

I loved the taste of this recipe but next time i make it i'm going to use about 1/4 cup less flour.

I've made biscotti many times -- these are one of the best! Excellent taste, easy to make and they smell so good while baking.

I made these biscotti as a snack for a picnic we were having, they were a real hit with everyone. They are very easy to make, I did not have a fresh orange in the house so I substituted 1/2 t. of orange oil. It did the trick, the cookies had a very nice fresh orange taste. Thanks Kraft.

to make this recipe even better add a little more rind and a little orange extract, this is what made this the best biscotti i have evermade and had in my life.
