Rated 2 out of 5 by from What a disaster! What a disaster! Mom had made it before and it was a mess but delicious! I don't know where I went wrong but the filling overflowed everywhere and wouldn't set for me, then 1 minute melted the cool whip, actually burned it and the chocolate didn't hardly melt at all in the microwave, next time think I will just melt chocolate then mix with cool whip, if there's a next time. :( Glad it worked out for others!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this dessert for my card club. I made this dessert for my card club. When I started melting the chocolate and Cool Whip, I couldn't believe that it would set. It got raves all around. I've made it for two other gatherings since, and everyone loves it, even those who say they don't like peanut butter! To make me feel less guilty, I used a fat-free butter spray instead of butter and reduced fat Oreos, to make the crust. I used fat-free ice cream and reduced fat chunky peanut butter. Because I prefer almonds, that's what I put on top. This is truly delicious!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tasty, easy and gorgeous! Tasty, easy and gorgeous! The Cool-whip/chocolate looked like a disaster at first, but I kept stirring and it turned out beautifully, like a $$ ganache! Used an Oreo store-bought crust to save time and effort. Reduced ingredients to fit the pie crust (Very easy to adjust ingredients.) Made bottom layer of chocolate ice cream w/Peanut butter and used peanuts and Reese's to separate layers. Topped with chopped Reese's and nuts. Was nice and rich, and a big hit for an anniversary dessert. Hubs loved it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OMG! OMG! This was super easy, and oh sooo good. This dessert can be made ahead, stored until you need to impress someone with dessert! Or just for a quick treat. I will be making this again, and may even mix it up a bit by trying different flavors of cookies and ice cream...look out hips!

I ended up doubling the butter added to the crushed Oreos so the crust would hold together. I couldn't believe I was microwaving Cool Whip but it turned out absolutely fantastic! A new favorite

I must admit I was apprehensive of melting Cool Whip in the microwave as I have never seen that in a recipe. But the end result was a fabulous summer dessert that didn't last long at all. Even my non-peanut-butter-eating children ate it and loved it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I too had problems with the chocolate/cool whip. I too had problems with the chocolate/cool whip. It wasn't enough to cover all of it and it just didn't turn out like I had hoped. It's in the freezer right now, so I haven't had the time to try it yet, but once I do I'll change the stars.
