  • Mix cream cheese and cookie crumbs until blended.
  • Shape into 40 (1-inch) balls. Dip balls in melted chocolate; roll in sugar to evenly coat. Place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan. Insert 1 pretzel piece into top of each for the pumpkin's stem.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.

Special Equipment Needed

Size Wise

Chocolate and peanut butter are a winning flavor combination in these fun mini treats with built-in portion control.

How to Coat with Sugar

In order for the sugar to stick to the balls, roll them in the sugar immediately after dipping them in the melted chocolate.

Omit colored sugar. Stir 3 drops orange food coloring (or 3 drops yellow food coloring and 1 drop red food coloring) into the melted chocolate before using to coat balls as directed.

Prepare using your favorite flavor of OREO Cookies.

How to Melt Chocolate

Place chocolate in microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 2-1/2 min. or until chocolate is completely melted, stirring every 30 sec.

How to Easily Dip Cookie Balls

To easily coat cookie balls with the melted chocolate, add balls, in batches, to bowl of melted chocolate. Use 2 forks to roll balls in chocolate until evenly coated. Remove balls with forks, letting excess chocolate drip back into bowl. Place balls in prepared pan; let stand until chocolate coating is firm.

If any melted chocolate remains after all balls are coated, store in tightly covered container at room temperature until ready to use for another use.

How to Store

Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Soften Cream Cheese

Place completely unwrapped package of cream cheese in microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 10 sec. or just until softened. Add 15 sec. for each additional package of cream cheese.

Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I got rave reviews with my variation of this recipe. I got rave reviews with my variation of this recipe. I used the golden oreos instead of the peanut butter and added a small amount of pumpkin pie spice to the mixture. I bought the prepacked orange chocolate discs but they did not melt as nicely as I would have liked but it was a little more work. I got rave reviews from the company! <<< Response from Kraft Kitchens Expert, Lori ~ Thank you for your rating! Your version sounds great, too! Next time, we encourage you to try making these with BAKER’S White Chocolate and orange colored sugar. BAKER’S Chocolate is specially formulated with quality ingredients to melt easier and smoother than other chocolate products, which will give your pumpkins a smooth shell. >>>

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fell Apart-a huge mess I made according to recipe except that I even put them in the fridge for an hour or more after the balls and before the dipping in chocolate. They fell apart while dipping in the chocolate so it was a huge mess. I have made the Easy Oreo Truffles recipe from Kraft before with no trouble. I think you need to add more cream cheese (use the full 8 oz) so they stick together better and use the freezer method. I would use this recipe (see below) and adapt it to this. Will try again that way. Hopefully it'll work better next time. http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/easy-oreo-truffles-95085.aspx

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Way to much work! Way to much work! Lots of trouble with the chocolate and dipping. Cute when done but not worth the effort. Taste is okay but not great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from These are very delish- however, they are hard to make. These are very delish- however, they are hard to make. The white chocolate gets dry when melted, so 'dipping' the balls is not possible. I let the chocolate cool, and wrapped the balls by rubbing the chocolate over.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too messy. Too messy. I made it with almond bark as my store didn't have the white Baker's chocolate. I recommend tinting the white chocolate orange as it hardens fast & then you can see the white if not completely coated. Also add the pretzel stem right away or you might crack the pumpkin. Only a couple looked like the picture. Should have been fun to make, but wasn't. I was so looking forward to making them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A disaster Nothing worked the way the recipe implied. Smears of chocolate ended up on the outside of the orange sugar and they ended up looking like some kind of weird meatball. They didn't even taste very good. We threw them in the trash.
