I made this cake for my son's 11th birthday. He wanted something different than just chocolate cake, so he decided he wanted a cake with strawberries and chocolate. I love this site! The cake turned out so moist & totally "yummy". Everyone at his party wanted 2nd slices! It was totally a hit!
The picture shows just frosting the center and top of the cake, but I frosted all around so the cake was frosted all around too. Just changed the amount of cool whip to 12 oz (bought a 16oz tub & used 3/4 of it), used 3 cups of sliced strawberries, & 22 oreo cookies that I crushed using a mortar & pestle set to make oreo crumbs. Also, refrigerate the cake for several hours or overnight before serving. The cool whip frosting will be cold that way when you serve it and won't soften so quickly.
