  • Beat Neufchatel, butter, sugar, cinnamon and orange extract in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually add milk, mixing well after each addition.
  • Pour Neufchatel mixture over combined bread and 1 cup mixed fruit bits in large bowl; toss lightly. Let stand 15 min., rearranging bread slices occasionally so all slices are evenly moistened with Neufchatel mixture.
  • Heat oven to 350°F. Arrange bread in rows in 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Pour any remaining Neufchatel mixture over bread.
  • Bake 40 to 45 min. or until golden brown. Meanwhile, bring syrup to boil in medium saucepan. Add remaining fruit bits and cinnamon sugar; stir. Cook on low heat 10 min., stirring occasionally. Cool sauce slightly.
  • Serve French toast topped with syrup mixture.

How to Make Cinnamon Sugar

Making cinnamon sugar is a snap. Simply combine 2 to 3 tsp. ground cinnamon with 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Store in airtight container or in shaker bottle until ready to use as desired.


Substitute vanilla for the orange extract.
