Make It

  • Cook pasta as directed on pkg.
  • Meanwhile, place walnuts, garlic, cream, cheese, salt and pepper in food processor container; cover. Process until well blended.
  • Drain pasta; place in large bowl. Add sauce; mix lightly.

Serving Suggestion

Balance this rich and indulgent entree with smart side dishes. For example, enjoy a serving of this pasta with steamed broccoli and baked apples for dessert.

How to Toast Nuts

Toasting nuts adds crunch and intensifies their flavor. To toast nuts in the oven, spread nuts in single layer in shallow baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 min. or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. To toast nuts on the stovetop, place nuts in ungreased skillet. Cook on medium heat until golden brown, stirring frequently. To toast nuts in the microwave, place up to 1 cup of nuts in a microwaveable shallow dish. Microwave on HIGH until fragrant and crisp, stirring every 30 sec.

Use Your Blender

Instead of the food processor, use an electric blender to mix the sauce ingredients. (Or, use a sharp knife to mince the garlic and finely chop the walnuts. Then, mix with the remaining sauce ingredients as directed.) Toss with the cooked drained pasta as directed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was absolutely the quickest and best tasting pasta recipe I have tried. This was absolutely the quickest and best tasting pasta recipe I have tried. I was confused about how to toast walnuts, however, I searched the site and found out very quickly how to toast them. It would have been more convenient to have the instructions on how to toast nuts included. I toasted my walnuts after shaking them in a salt water mixture. My son is picky and says he will have it again! Definitely a keeper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I used a tiny bit of fresh garlic and about 7 good-sized roasted garlic cloves. I used a tiny bit of fresh garlic and about 7 good-sized roasted garlic cloves. It was delicious! I made sure the fresh garlic was completely smashed. To catts71355... - the recipe calls for half and half, not cream cheese. If you look again (in the body of the recipe), there's a comma between cream and cheese. Thought you might like to know. I think if you like garlic, you'll love this one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thought this looked like a great (and easy) recipe so I had to try it. Thought this looked like a great (and easy) recipe so I had to try it. Even being a garlic lover (my kids love garlic also), fresh garlic is very pungent for some palates so I used roasted garlic instead. It was terrific!! Loved it. Also very easy to modify by adding vegetables or leftovers like chicken.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was delicious! This was delicious! My family loves garlic. I added some broccoli and carrots to it and my kids declared it a "super-duper" dish. I also see so many variation possibilities in this, like substituting squash or eggplant for the pasta, or using hazelnuts or pecans instead of walnuts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good. Very good. Quick and easy. I used light cream, since I didn't have half & half and then added a tablespoon of cornstarch to thicken it up a bit. I would make prepare this recipe again. Bet it tastes good cold also used in a salad of greens only.
