Have been making this for years. I have a large family - I use 3 boxes of mac n cheese and 1 1/2 cups cheese - but keep everything else the same. My kids love it. Good week night meal. Add a side salad and some bread and butter and you are there!
Can't believe adding stuff to a prepared dinner is considered a "recipe," that's the only reason for the one star. I've been making this for years with my own mac & cheese using canned tomatoes instead of sauce. You can use whole or diced, seasoned or not as you prefer. I also sometimes use large ham cubes instead of ground beef. And as with all mac & cheese, the more Velveeta, the better! You can hardly ever go wrong with meat, cheese, and pasta.
So delicious. Ingredients seems simple but somehow it just works together for deliciousness. Filling too. If you add a salad could easily feed a family of 4. Feel free to add seasoning to the meat when browning it...but it doesn't make much of a difference (as I forgot today). Lots of freedom to add different things (types of spices, cheeses, etc.) Perfect for busy family nights (or DINKS like us)...YUM!!!
