  • Prepare cake batter and bake as directed on package for 24 cupcakes, blending 1/4 cup (4 Tbsp.) dry drink mix into batter before spooning into prepared muffin cups.
  • Cool cupcakes in pans 10 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
  • Mix remaining drink mix with frosting in medium bowl until blended. Gently stir in COOL WHIP. Spread onto cupcakes.

Special Extra

Decorate frosted cupcakes with colored sprinkles.

Make Ahead

Cupcakes can be baked ahead of time. Cool, then frost as directed. Freeze in airtight container up to 2 months. Thaw in refrigerator before serving.

    You have to make it with sweetened kool-aid. If you don't have enough kool-aid in the package to do what the receipe says then you have the wrong kind. Unfortunately I made it the wrong way and it was horrible. I will try again another time & I'm sure it will be great.

    Made for Bible school using cherry,was great and cake part was so fluffy and light. Taste was great.

    very very good. my only problem was you can't buy 'sweetened' koolaid in a packet so I sweetened my own ... sugar to packets of unsweetened koolaid. I used black cherry and it was delicious.
