qt. (4 cups) boiling water

pkg. (8-serving size) JELL-O Berry Blue Flavor Gelatin

pkg. (8-serving size) JELL-O Strawberry Flavor Gelatin

cups cold water

cup blueberries

tub (12 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed

cup strawberries, sliced

Make It

STIR 2 cups of the boiling water into each flavor dry gelatin mix in separate medium bowls 2 min. or until completely dissolved. Stir 1 cup cold water into gelatin in each bowl. Refrigerate blue gelatin 1-1/2 hours or until thickened (spoon drawn through leaves definite impression). Let strawberry gelatin stand at room temperature.

ADD blueberries to thickened blue gelatin; stir. Pour into 4- to 6-qt. glass bowl. Refrigerate 30 min. or until set but not firm (gelatin should stick to finger when touched and should mound). Spread with 3-1/2 cups of the whipped topping; refrigerate. Meanwhile, refrigerate strawberry gelatin 1-1/2 hours or until thickened. Stir in strawberries; spoon over whipped topping layer.

REFRIGERATE 3 hours or until firm. Top with the remaining whipped topping. Store in refrigerator.

Substitute 2 pkg. (4-serving size each) gelatin for the 1 pkg. (8-serving size) gelatin.

How to Thaw COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

The best way to thaw frozen COOL WHIP Whipped Topping is in its container in the refrigerator. Depending on the size tub you have, the thawing time varies. Recommended thawing times are: 8-oz. tub - 4 hours; 12-oz. tub - 5 hours; 16-oz. tub - 6 hours. We DO NOT recommend thawing COOL WHIP Whipped Topping in the microwave.

I'd like to make this, but I'm wondering whether the COOL WHIP layer supports the weight of the top layer of strawberry JELL-O. Does any of the strawberry layer seep into the COOL WHIP?

I think you misunderstood. It calls for an 8 serving size box. Not 8 oz. So others who are making this recipe, the ingredients for the recipe are correct. I haven't made it yet, I'm going to make it for the 4th-hard to select a rating without making it.

I made this about 4 times and everyone that has tasted it loved it and even asked for the recipe or if i could make it again

I made this twice and everyone loved it. It takes alot of time but it is worth it for looks and taste.

The fans loved it!! I made them in individual cups for a bbq. I also used black cherry Jello instead of strawberry. So I only garnished with a dollop of cool whip.

I thought this was great. I did make a few changes. I only had a 2.5 qt. bowl so I used a 4 serv. pkg. of Jello instead and only added 1/2c. of fruit. I did however use the 12oz. of cool whip. I also used the speed set method and got it done in half the time. The jello set in only 1/2 hr. instead of 1 1/2 hrs.

Fabulous hit at the party. However, thre's no reason for a 4-6 quart bowl! A 2 quart contained everything (the recipe only requires 6 cups of water plus the whipped cream). <<< Response from Kraft Kitchens Expert, Wendy ~ Using a 12 ounce container of Cool Whip, this recipe will not fit into a 2-quart bowl; a 4-quart bowl is necessary.” >>>

Loved this one!! Easy to make and everyone loved the festive look for the 4th of July. Tasted yummy too.
