PB & J French Toast

This was great tasting and it was very easy to make. I'm thinking about putting bananas in between the bread next time I make it. Highly recommend!

what you need

slices whole wheat, white or cinnamon raisin bread

1/4

cup peanut butter

Tbsp. strawberry jam

eggs

Tbsp. milk

2-1/2

cups honey-flavored multi-grain cereal flakes with oat clusters, crushed

cups sliced fresh fruit, such as strawberries and/or bananas

Tbsp. sifted powdered sugar

1/2

cup maple syrup

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Spread each of 4 bread slices with 1 Tbsp. peanut butter and about 2 tsp. jam. Cover with remaining bread slices to make 4 sandwiches.

BREAK eggs into shallow dish. Add milk and beat with wire whisk for 30 seconds. Place crushed cereal in pie plate. Dip each sandwich into egg mixture, then into cereal, turning to evenly coat both sides. Press cereal gently into bread to secure. Place on lightly greased baking sheet.

BAKE 20 min. or until golden brown. Cut each sandwich diagonally in half; top with fruit. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with syrup.

best french toast, not a fan of pb, so the second i made the recipe i substituted it with cream cheese, much better! the crushed cereal gives it a great flavor

It doesn't sound like it would be that grand on paper, but it really is simple to make and it tastes surprisingly good!

I'm not a fan of peanut butter, but my husband liked this. Didn't dip the bread into the cereal after the egg to keep the carbs down, but think I would've liked it that way.

This was very tasty. I made it for my family while they were still asleep. They all said they enjoyed it.

My 3 year old daughter loved making this for breakfast, and we all enjoyed it! Definitely longer than a 5 minute prep time, especially with my little "helper", and the 4 sandwiches required a double batch of the egg/milk mixture, but we'll definitely make it again.

Ya know this wasn't that good but my 5 and 7 year old neighbors loved it. so give it too the kids.
