The crust of these bars tastes like a sugar cookie, and the filling tastes like pecan pie. But the best part is how many treats you’ll have to share!

Special Extra

For easy cleanup, line baking pan with foil using this easy method.  Turn pan upside down and fit a piece of foil over top of pan, smoothing corners as needed.  Remove foil.  When you turn the pan over, the foil fits perfectly inside the pan.

My kids are always excited when they know he is making them. We just attended a family wedding and at my mother's request my husband made the pecan bars, they were a big hit. My aunt confessed that she stashed a bunch in her purse. My parents and brother-in-law made sure they had plates full of them to take home. I would recommend this recipe for anyone. According to my husband they are very easy to make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This has become a regular in my Christmas cookie line-up! This has become a regular in my Christmas cookie line-up! Everyone, from kids to teachers to foreign exchange students LOVE these bars! I make several batches, because they freeze well. The hope is that they last well past Christmas, but they never do! They are a little more involved than mix & drop cookies, but well worth the extra effort! They look great (take your time cutting them) and taste divine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I make pecan tassies for the holidays and special occasions. I make pecan tassies for the holidays and special occasions. If this recipe is even half as good as my tassies, it wins my vote for being easier, keeping that pecan pie taste. Looking to include it as one of my holiday favorites. I agree with cook who wants a thinner crust using a larger pan. Would Increase filling by 1/2 of listed ingredients for a thicker layer. Watch baking time with larger pan.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I followed the recipe exactly using the size pan designated in recipe and we were disappointed. I followed the recipe exactly using the size pan designated in recipe and we were disappointed. Too much of the crust layer according to both teens and my husband. The pecan mixture on top was a success, but I think my household would like to see a thinner crust. Might try it again with a larger pan so that the crust can be spread more thinly and increase the pecan mixture to cover entire area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from omg, this was awesome! omg, this was awesome! I decided to break away from the traditional pumpkin pie this year and boy was I glad I did! The family could not stop talking about this desert and was the first to go. I topped off this desert with French Vanilla flavored whipped cream and refrigerated it overnite. Turned it into a triple layer dream!! You will not be disappointed!!

My only complaint was there wasn't enough of the gooey stuff, so I might even double that part of the recipe and make everything else the way the recipe says to.
