Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an excellent recipe. This is an excellent recipe. It's easy to make. It uses ingredients that you probably have in your pantry. It only requires one pot. And it practically cooks itself. I love not having to cook the pasta and sauce separately. I didn't think the recipe was bland. But, if you like a spicier sauce, add the spices to your taste. This is a great recipe for a night when you just don't have any time. Also, it will make a great potluck recipe as it produces many servings. Thank you, Kraft!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great basic and quick and easy recipe! Great basic and quick and easy recipe! Like others, I couldn't imagine just browning the meat. (I used ground turkey). So I added a little Italian seasoning, powdered garlic, powdered onion, freshly ground pepper, and red pepper flakes. I ran out of mozzarella cheese so I substituted 2% Mexican cheeses. And used whole wheat penne. Amazing!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's probably difficult to mess this up! It's probably difficult to mess this up! I added a cup of diced onion to the hamburger, and a heaping tablespoon of the prepared diced garlic to the sauce. I used Newman's vodka sauce because that's what I had, and used medium shells in place of penne. Topped it with plenty of cheese. Both husband and kid loved it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good and easy pasta dish. Good and easy pasta dish. I adapted the recipe some. I used a 13.25 oz. box of whole grain penne rigate. Used 2 1/2 cups of water, 1 can 14.5 oz petite diced tomatoes, also added fresh spinach. I used spices: pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, Mrs Dash Italian medley, and dry basil. Very good.

It's one of the few dishes that commands seconds with my group of picky eaters. I love the fact that there are few ingredients, and it can be on the table in 30 mins. Add a salad as a veggie offering.
