  • Brown meat in large skillet on medium-high heat; drain.
  • Add pasta sauce and water; mix well. Stir in pasta. Bring to boil; cover. Simmer on medium heat 16 to 18 min. or until pasta is tender; stir.
  • Top with cheese; cover. Cook 1 min. or until cheese is melted.

Special Extra

Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley just before serving.


Prepare using your favorite shape small pasta.

    Great basic and quick and easy recipe! Like others, I couldn't imagine just browning the meat. (I used ground turkey). So I added a little Italian seasoning, powdered garlic, powdered onion, freshly ground pepper, and red pepper flakes. I ran out of mozzarella cheese so I substituted 2% Mexican cheeses. And used whole wheat penne. Amazing!!

    Added chopped onion and garlic to the hamburger. Also added a can of diced tomatoes with garlic.

    This was simple to make and even a picky eater like it. I made it with ground turkey. I added onion, garlic and mushrooms. I think I will add a can of diced tomatoes next time I make it.
